Frequently Asked Questions
How long does casement window installation take?
Most residential casement window installations are completed in one day. Larger jobs or properties with many windows may run over two days. We'll give you a clear programme when we quote.
Do I need planning permission for casement windows?
In most cases, no. Replacement windows in the same style and material are permitted development. Exceptions apply in conservation areas, listed buildings and some flats. We can advise for your specific property.
What's the difference between casement and tilt-and-turn windows?
Casement windows hinge at the side and open outward. Tilt-and-turn windows hinge at the bottom (tilt) or at the side (turn) — common in European markets but also available in the UK. We supply both.
Can you replace single casements without replacing the whole window frame?
In some cases yes — if the frame is in good condition and the opening size hasn't changed, a sealed unit or sash replacement within the existing frame may be possible. We'll assess this when we survey.
