Composite Door Installation in Uxbridge & West London

Composite doors have become the most popular choice for new front doors in the UK — and it's easy to see why. They combine the appearance of a solid timber door with the structural integrity of a GRP (glass reinforced plastic) skin over a solid foam core, giving you a door that looks good, performs well thermally and is significantly more secure than a standard uPVC panel door.

AMB Glass supplies and installs composite doors across Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Ealing, Hounslow and wider West London. We carry a wide range of door slabs, panels and hardware options and can supply matching side panels and top lights.

What Makes a Composite Door?

Composite vs uPVC vs Timber

Choosing a front door usually comes down to three materials. Here's how they compare:

Highest (quality timber)

For most homeowners replacing a front door, composite offers the best balance — the look of timber, the maintenance of uPVC, and the best security of the three. Timber still wins on authenticity for period and listed properties; uPVC remains the value choice for back and side doors.

How Installation Works

  1. Free survey & quote — we measure the opening, discuss slab design, colour, glazing and hardware, and give you a clear itemised price.
  2. Manufacture — your composite door is built to your exact measurements. Typical lead times are 2–4 weeks depending on style and colour.
  3. Fitting — old door and frame out, new frame fitted and levelled, door hung and adjusted, opening sealed and made good. Usually completed in a single visit.
  4. Sign-off — we test the locking and operation and register with FENSA where applicable.
